SmartA2Station
Real-time fault detection and wireless RF monitoring for the live-sound A2.
SmartA2Station is a macOS utility for the A2 (assistant audio) role in live sound. It continuously analyzes every channel with FFT-based DSP to flag faults — no-signal, hum, feedback, clipping, crackle — within about 100 ms, while tracking RF and battery across networked wireless receivers. Monitor snapshots, per-channel solo/mute, Instant Replay, and a live-synced remote client keep a whole audio team watching a complex show from anywhere in the venue.
Features
- Real-time fault detection on every channel via FFT DSP: no-signal, hum, feedback, clipping, distortion, crackle, digital clicks, and interface disconnects — each detector adjustable
- Wireless receiver monitoring for RF and battery, with low-battery, RF, and interference alerts
- Supports Shure, Sennheiser, Lectrosonics, and Audio-Technica receivers (Shure units auto-discover on the network)
- Wireless Workbench CSV import to match channel names and frequencies and build receiver entries automatically
- Monitor snapshots and channel groups: named, switchable layouts with meters, waveforms, pictures, and clocks, detachable to a second display
- Per-channel Instant Replay — a rolling audio history buffer you can scrub and play back through the solo bus
- Remote control via OSC, MIDI, and Stream Deck (Bitfocus Companion), plus a companion client app for remote operators over the LAN
